Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) were first introduced by the government in 2007 to accurately calculate how energy efficient various properties are. This is particularly important in the UK, where housing stock can be hundreds of years old and the energy efficiency of different buildings varies greatly. An EPC Glasgow is required by UK law whenever a property is sold or rented. There are some exceptions to this rule for listed buildings, Listed Buildings or prohibited buildings, but even with these types of properties most lawyers will still need an EPC certificate.
To renew a certificate or confirm an energy efficiency rating, a specialist is invited to carry out a comprehensive calculation.
